Thai Moy Poon sadly passed away on Saturday 17th February 2024 at St Luke’s Hospital in Oxford, aged 86 years.

She was born on 6th February 1938 in Malaysia. One of eleven siblings, she grew up in the warmth, love and embrace of a large extended family. She later moved to Cardiff in the 1990s with her immediate family – and in her later life so cherished her role as a grandmother.

She was a highly accomplished seamstress with clientele including Malaysian royalty, but also a prolific home cook, centring and bringing the family together on the dishes she would prepare with her warmth and love day-to-day.

Much cherished wife of the late William Teik Lim Tai, loving mother to Tony and Mona, grandmother to William, Marina, Natasha and Nadia, and mother-in-law to Ashfaq and Lisa.

You will be so very dearly missed by your family here and those afar, but your wonderful memory will certainly live on.

Moy is currently resting at Homewood Funeral Directors in Oxford.

We will celebrate her life at St John’s Chapel, Oxford, at 10am on Saturday 2nd March 2024.  Rest in peace and fly high.
